Privacy and Confidentiality
|
We at Stewart Systems, Inc., take
privacy and confidentiality very seriously.
Privacy is critical to our clients because opinions are shared that are very personal.
The results of an assessment must be visible ONLY to those with whom the client wishes
them shared, and necessarily, to the persons performing and processing the assessments.
While we may make use of group-level statistics and relationships, non-disclosure of
personal results is a serious commitment that we make and keep.
Confidentiality is important to both the participants and the evaluators.
If the participant is not guaranteed that the results will remain confidential, evaluators may not
respond honestly. Confidentiality is provided in the evaluation process through anonymity.
The fact that evaluations cannot be traced to an individual is what allows
truthful reporting by all respondents. The participant is given a number of anonymous token codes.
The participant gives these to evaluators selected by the participant, and ONLY the participant
knows the relationship between a token and a named person. The data returned
by evaluators is identified only by the token -- which we can only relate to the participant,
not to an individual. However, the scores from your boss(es) and your customers
are not held in confidence. We believe that these scores are more beneficial if
they are presented openly.
The evaluation report is carefully designed to maintain anonymity.
The scores from the participant's direct reports and peers are withheld unless there is a minimum
of three scores for each group. Through averaging the scores, the confidentiality is upheld. Thus, the
greater the number of scores from each group, the greater the level of confidentiality.
If only one or two scores are present for each group, the individual scores are not
printed, though the group average is still printed. This behooves the participants to
encourage as many direct reports and peers to complete the online survey.
